Because Sheetz remained open throughout the pandemic, over 21,000 employees were still working in stores, distribution centers, and remotely.
The redesigned intranet, BOB, was used to reduce digital friction and to host a valuable COVID-19 Resource Center. This area included information on COVID pay and benefits, guidelines, procedures, FAQs, and a Sheetz official daily update category. Broadcasts were deployed, pinging important messages from the company president to workers’ cellphones and encouraging users to visit the Resource Center.
The fast-growth convenience retailer’s improved intranet, BOB, is crucial in supporting frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. The company saw a 13% increase in site visits and a 27% increase in page views year-over-year and the COVID-19 Resource Center kept employees informed and connected. BOB is also now the ideal place for Sheetz to publish regular video content in order to boost engagement.
