National Housing Federation chooses Interact to engage remote and mobile workforce

Housing association trade body deploys intelligent intranet software to unify team and boost collaboration even while on the go

[Manchester, UK – 17, May 2016] National Housing Federation (NHF), the trade body representing independent, non-profit housing associations in England, is shaking up its internal communications with intelligent intranet software from Interact. The move has helped to build a collaborative culture of engagement across the organisation and unify the Federation’s disparate workforce.

“We put our members at the heart of everything we do. We work together as one team to achieve that mission but our employees are spread out across multiple locations, with many mobile workers, and this has led to communication challenges,” said Kerry Hill, Internal Communications at National Housing Federation. “We wanted to do away with silo-style working and continue improving our team culture. After reviewing the options on the market Interact was a natural choice. It has extensive experience of working with housing associations and we are confident the software will support us in our goal.”

The new intranet has just been rolled out to NHF employees this week. Users around the country will benefit from Interact’s mobile and social features. These include Interact Mobile enabling access to workers on the move and a blogging tool for quick and easy posting of ideas. Ultimate Forums will boost collaboration by enabling staff to share new developments with one another, regardless of location or device – ideal in this fast paced operating environment.

“The NHF approached Interact with big visions for internal communications and frustration that its current platform couldn’t engage employees outside of its head office,” said Nigel Danson, Interact CEO and Founder. “The most important function has been to provide a platform where mobile workers and those in remote locations can collaborate with each other and feel part of one team. The intelligent functionality of the intranet where content finds people lends itself well to these requirements and we have significant expertise in the housing association sector. It’s certainly a field where removing the barriers to effective collaboration is a must.”

Interact provides intelligent intranet software to over 40 housing associations worldwide, making it the number one provider of social housing intranet software in the world.
