Yes, Data is encrypted both in transit (TLS1.2) and at rest (using FIPS 140-2 compliant 256-bit AES encryption). Furthermore, customer data remains within its geographical region (US or EEA) and is never transferred between pods.

For AI services such as translation, data is stored temporarily (for example, up to 48 hours with Azure AI Language) and is purged thereafter. Azure OpenAI Services retains submitted data only for monitoring and abuse investigation purposes for 30 days, with NO use for model training.
