Interact has provided excellent support for the ideation, creation, and launch of our intranet. Since using Interact’s software, we’ve been able to completely overhaul our intranet to make it much sleeker and easier for employees to use.
Sony Interactive was the result of the merger between Sony Network Entertainment and Sony Computer Entertainment in 2016. Although the brand was working hard to achieve the highest of standards, internally this was being undermined by the merging of two ineffective, hard-to-use legacy SharePoint intranets.
Employee surveys showed that staff felt out of the loop, so a principal challenge was developing an intranet where the company could announce external news such as product launches first. This would help strengthen a one-company culture.
The brand also wanted to promote employee self-servicing via a new platform filled with easy-to-find content that would be essential to the working lives of every employee.
To create a new intranet that would serve the whole company, Sony worked with Interact to map user journeys and then build a system that enabled productivity. The new platform initially focused on important functions such as the booking of training courses, vacation, and other important processes.
To further support this, the brand used improved Search and Best Bets to surface the right content for every user. Sony also built a culture-focused intranet by creating a highly visual, social platform packed with content. New articles, images, quizzes, FAQs, and a policy of live streaming company events, enabled the combination of inspirational, fun content with business-essential information.
The new Interact intranet, Center Stage, has transformed how staff at the global entertainment brand connect with one another, access information, and stay on top of company news and events.
